Video exhibited at Museo San Telmo

This video by British artist Gillian Wearing depicted an Albanian child extolling the virtues of the heroic monuments located in Tirana in patriotic and emphatic language. Shot in a home video format, the rhetoric-laden verse, and the child’s very serious effort to deliver his script correctly, gave the work a tension and recalled a time when propaganda often went unquestioned.
