Basma Alsharif is an artist working with photography, video, language and sound. Her work combines images from different contexts with spoken and written text that play with the aesthetics of language and the video image. Her video installation for Manifesta 8 is composed of super 8mm footage from the interiors of abandoned homes interweaved together over sound clips of recipe.
