Meet the Manifesta 16 Ruhr Visual Identity
Manifesta 16 Ruhr proudly presents its new visual identity – the result of an inspiring collaboration with NODE, a design studio based in Berlin and Oslo.
Drawing on the region’s industrial past, the visual concept reflects the rhythm of the Ruhr Area. The design features a custom typeface inspired by traditional milling processes, a subtle homage to the region’s history. Its linear character evokes both industrial transport networks and digital data routes.
Founded in 2003 by Anders Hofgaard and Serge Rompza, NODE is a research-driven studio with a distinctive approach to design. Over the years, NODE has grown to be recognized for its context-sensitive work. As the studio puts it: “The cultural context requires a degree of finding out about the project - or design research - that affords the responsive way of working that constitutes the signature of this studio.”
With this new identity, the stage is set for Manifesta 16 Ruhr to take place from the 21st of June until the 4th of October 2026 – a period of 15 weeks! The Press Preview and Press Conference is planned on the 18th of June 2026. Professional Preview days will take place on the 19th and 20th of June 2026.
Countdown has begun!
