Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.

La Casa dels Futurs is both an ongoing project to foster intersectional collaborations between social and ecological movements, as well as a campaign towards the creation of a permanent Climate Justice Centre and Movement School in Barcelona to address the challenges posed by the ecological and climate crises. La Casa dels Futurs is a dynamic initiative focused on supporting structurally marginalised communities already living on the frontlines of the climate crisis. Their work uplifts leadership from the peripheries, promoting translocal exchanges and employing place-based pedagogies to co-create climate solutions for the Mediterranean region. Operating within three key areas – climate resilience, global solidarity and a Movement School – the initiative aims to serve as a reference for large-scale, urban and self-organised climate infrastructure, empowering communities to thrive on a damaged planet.
