Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.

Ayzit Bostan is a designer and artist who has been Professor of Design of Textile Products at the Kunsthochschule Kassel since 2012. She founded her own studio in Munich in 1995. Her works move in between art and design and her artistic language is multi-layered: from clothing to objects to spatial stagings – characterised by pop-cultural quotations, irony and political messages.
