Elizabeth Price’s practice brings together historical research, institutional reflection and unsettling atmospeheres, resulting in works that are both analytical and visually engaging. Born in Bradford in 1966, Price developed her approach through conceptual art and institutional critique; she is widely recognised as a significant British artist. Price won the Turner Prize in 2012 for 'The Woolworths Choir of 1979', a multi-layered video installation that combines imagery of Gothic church architecture, pop-culture performance and archival news footage to explore themes of social history, structural violence and collective memory.
