Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.

Eva Koťátková is a visual artist and educator. In her artistic practice, Eva Kot’átková has engaged with alternative educational models, physical participation and the ways we relate to the natural world through critical institutional practice. She thinks about her projects as temporary collective bodies which invite you in, offering spaces for radical imagination, emotions, rethinking human/nonhuman relations and oppressive cultural patterns to seek possibilities of change. She often involves storytelling and collaborates with children or intergenerational groups. She founded children's publishing house Bouře (Storm) and magazine Krunýř (Shell).
