Šejla Kamerić is known for her intimate, socio-political commentaries in her artistic work, often using a direct language. Combining photography, installation, site-specific projects and film, Kamerić works with non-linear histories and personal experiences. Her work focuses on memory, forms of resistance in human life and women’s struggles. Grounded in empathy as a fundamental mode of communication between artist, subject and spectator, her practice both inspires and reveals power and political engagement.
