Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.
Pravdoliub Ivanov, BG

Fever, 2025–2026. Foil letters, electric lights 580 × 160 cm.
Pravdoliub Ivanov's ideas emerge from everyday life and imagination, yet he aims to create works that do not fully fit into either realm. Many of his installations are conceived as temporary gestures, rooted in his belief that artistic value lies not in the object itself, but in the encounters it triggers. Ivanov work across objects, installation, photography and drawing, often responding directly to the conditions and provocations of a specific site or to social and political tensions as a way of explaining the world. Titles play an essential role in accessing the meaning behind most of his works.
