Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.

Albe Hamiti is a Kosovar artist based in Berlin. In her artistic work, she deals with questions of identity, her role as a woman in society and emotional perception in a social context. Her preferred mediums are video, photography and installation, which she understands as open experimental arrangements. By making the personal visible, she gives expression to experiences shared by many and creates space for a collective perspective. Her works are characterised by honesty, vulnerability and strength.
