Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography.
CaboSanRoque with FLEXO ARQUITECTURA, ES

FAIL LOUDER. Sound installation 250m2.
The collective CaboSanRoque (Laia Torrents and Roger Aixut) was founded in 2012 in Banyoles and has built one of the most singular trajectories in contemporary Catalan culture. For Manifesta 16 Ruhr they will be working together with FLEXO ARQUITECTURA. Their work redefines sound as sculptural matter, bringing together visual arts, architecture, literature and technology through installations where space, machinery and spectators become active elements. Deeply rooted in Catalan cultural heritage, they transform authors such as Brossa, Verdaguer and Rodoreda into immersive experiences. Combining conceptual rigor, technological invention, and sustained research, cabosanroque has established an internationally recognised artistic language of exceptional coherence and cultural relevance
